They will be offering Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner on 24th December 2018, Christmas Hi-Tea Brunch on 25th December 2018 & New Year’s Eve Buffet Dinner on 31st December 2018 at Big Apple Restaurant.
What makes it a little more special to celebrate in Berjaya Times Square Hotel? The hotel’s Michelin Star Executive Chef Abri stepped up the game with a full spread of traditional Christmas delicacies which showcases the true Christmas spirits.
Here are some of the recommended dishes by Chef Abri:
And for those who would like to satisfy their sweet tooth… there will be plenty of sweet delights from Christmas Spiced Cake, Panettone, Christmas Pudding with Cream Anglaise, assorted macaroons and many more!
The Northern fare Rasa Utara is celebrating its 34th year of business, and currently the outlet operating in Berjaya Times Square aims to serve the best of Northern inspired cuisines.
Ironic enough, throughout my studies in this building I’ve never thought of walking into this restaurant before as it was a little beyond the ‘student budget’ and most of my course mates would often prefer Western cuisines.
The fried chicken was deep-fried to golden perfection and unbelievably juicy hot with crisp cracklingly flavorful skin though it wasn’t thickly coated with batter. This would go so well with a plate of Nasi Jagung.
If you love your food with some good amount of heat in it, this signature chicken dish with their homemade stir-fried chili paste will blow your mind. Though fried chicken was a little dry but you’ll find yourself reaching for spoons after spoons of their chili paste.
Mouth-watering deliciousness, this spicy and tangy Malaysian fish dish that is sure to whet your appetite. I love the right amount of tang in the curry, making it so appetizing.
Rasa Utara’s signature dish, the fish was well marinated with herbs and spices then deep-fried to crisp perfection. Having the fish by itself without needing any condiments to enhance its flavors although it is to paired with their signature blend of caramilised sweet soy sauce and sambal ‘nuclear’ (hot sambal) for a full and flavourful taste.
Squid stuffed with minced chicken and potato, deep fried and served with their special Kapitan sauce. The squid texture was surprisingly wasn’t rubbery and the stuffings were simply delightful. Just having the batter on its own was addicting. Kapitan sauce was creamy in texture with a rich coconut milk aftertaste.
I’ve got to admit that sambal, prawn and petai are meant to be together! Every bite of this dish was bursting with flavors. You’d get that nice nutty crunch of petai, really fresh prawns and sambal with just the right amount of heat. I’d highly recommended having this dish!
Be sure to standby plenty of rice when you’re having these eggplants generously smothered with sambal! This was so addicting I could almost have this all by myself.
Let’s be frank, almost anything ‘masak lemak’ will taste good.😂 The fern shoots were cooked till nice and soft while the gravy wasn’t too heavy and has wonderful aromas of the coconut milk.
The soup was simply earthy, meaty, warm and comforting with the amazing bursting flavors from varietal of local spices. This is a definite MUST-ORDER soup when you’re dining here.
Instead of having plain rice, you’d get a wonderful touch of sweetness and juicy crunch as you enjoy it with some dishes.
The curry was so compelling! You’d catching yourself devouring into this humble bowl of noodles in no time. Look at the size of that prawn!
Mee soto ayam is one my favourite dishes. Clear flavorsome chicken broth with rice cakes served with unselfish amount of shredded chicken. Perfect dish to have on a cold rainy day.
This chilled dessert is so refreshing and comforting at the same time after a spicy meal. It was just at the right soft but chewy texture and perfect balance of sweetness from the gula melaka.
The cendol was a missed, we had to request for more gula melaka to get back its consistency. I’d personally prefer having the Sago Gula Melaka though.😅
Rasa Utara positions itself as a place for families and friends to get together, whilst also being an avenue for the professional crowd, it hopes that its contemporary setting, complemented with authentic, heart-warming food, will prove to be a draw for those seeking a genuine experience of the North.

Luce Osteria Contemporanea is an Italian pizzeria that offers 60 over types of pizzas!🍕
Its located at the burgeoning culinary hub of Old Malaya, Luce Osteria Contemporanea specializes in making authentic Italian pizzas using imported pizza wood-fire oven. 🔥
We’re here for their ‘Eat As Much As You Can‘ which was an all-day event on the 14th March 2018 for only RM60++ per person. They’ve got 7 types of pizzas that night and one dessert.
Each person got to have 2 slices per pizza.🤔 Here’s what made it seems odd, one of our diner was too full to go on for the next pizza, the waiter told us its either all of us wouldn’t be given or they’d just have to keep stacking that diner’s plate with pizzas. Oooh wastage, that does not sounds right.
This was something nice to begin with as it was light one to start with. Love the generous amount of Pecorino Romano shavings they’ve topped on. Sweet dreams are made of cheese.
Arugula is not loved by many but cheese really does has a way on making everything better. I really enjoyed the mild and tangy flavors from the taleggio as well.
I’ve never had pizzas with sweet potato cream on it which really does give a nice refreshing twist to it.
This has to be my favorite among the 7 pizzas because I’m a huge fan of salmon and with cheese, assolutamente!
A simple one but topping it with some Smoked Speck brings it to a whole different level.
This was actually delicious but the asparagus was a turn off because of its fiber. However, the pork sausage was simply delectable.
Ended our last round of pizza with a classic Italian pizza.
After 7 pizzas, we were satiate from all the cheese and dough. The lemon sorbet work its magic as a palate cleanser and being simply freshening. We wanted to get a second round of this but unfortunately we’d have to pay for RM8 per scoop as this wasn’t part of the ‘All You Can Eat’.🤷
Overall it was a pleasant dining experience as the pizzas were remarkable but it would’ve been a much better experience if the service wasn’t so substandard.

Anyways, sit back and relax with your other half, accompanied by a bottle of wine and astounding dishes prepared by Chef de Cuisine, Valmurugan Subramaniam and his team.
We’ll be having the 5-course set dinner specially prepared by their award-winning chefs.
It was an absolute refreshing starter. As impressive as it looks, the salmon was really light and fresh.
The color of the soup was quite vibrant and served piping hot with some nice buttery flavor to it which makes it so sumptuous.
We then paused for a delicate rose-mint sorbet with a nice balance of floral and sweetness which was quite riveting.
As for the main course, there would be 3 options to be picked.
The texture of the fish was quintessential. It was crispy on the outside, light and delicate inside.
The beef cheek was scrumptious! It was liquefy tender with a rich and deep flavor.
The lamb was perfectly cooked and the sous vide keeps it really tender and juicy.
This wonderful French dessert is full of sweetness and fragrance from the strawberries! The mousse is light, smooth and melts in your mouth instantly.
If you like what you’re seeing, you should really consider booking a table ASAP!

Raise your glass…It’s Bubbalicious time! Indulge in a Sunday Brunch like no other. Here you will be enjoying a combination of live grill and cooking stations, seafood and antipasto buffet plus pass around delights so you can relax and take your Sundays to Bubbalicious heights.
Anyways, let’s browse through what they’re serving!
Some freshly baked loaves and rolls to be paired with some Italian cheese and perhaps some cold cuts.
Prego is an absolute heaven for appetizer and starter lovers. There’s just a long spread of it!
My favorite dish from the counter has to be the Caprese Salad.
As tempting as it makes you want to dive into a little of each, you can’t miss their Caesar Salad live station!
I really enjoyed the salad but my first spoon was a little too salty as I wasn’t looking and got myself a huge chunk of anchovy.😁
The salad may have been an accident but the Zucchini Soup was a little too salty.
These were these few dishes from the carving station outside of the restaurant. The whole roast chicken was scrumptious!
Pizzas and pastas were then brought around tables which was literally the best part of the brunch!
Pizzas always win but it was a little disappointing when they only baked 2 pizzas throughout the brunch. I really enjoyed the texture of the pizza dough and the toppings. The vegetarian pizza was the best! However the Chicken Alfredo and Penne Arrabbiata was stone cold. It would’ve be pleasant if it was at the right temperature.
The Westin Kuala Lumpur should really consider having a dessert buffet because everything was spectacular! Honestly. I’ve enjoyed their desserts and pizzas the most throughout the brunch.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. Here’s the price:

Otak Otak Wellington is a MUST TRY! You’ve probably and otak otak and beef wellington but Otak Otak Wellington isn’t it?😛
🎄Shoutout to the wonderful chefs behind this festive feast!🎄
The city centre’s party hub located at the Changkat Bukit Bintang dining and nightlife precinct previously named Hubba Hubba has turn over a new leaf and is now a spot to sip on some exotic Goan-inspired cocktails and modern Indian Cuisine.
I don’t know about you but those lights were really eye-catching it reminded me of an Indian restaurant in New York, Panna II Garden!✨
Award Winning National Champions Dhol Group in Malaysia, Dhol Riderz really got the crowd jumping to some sick beats throughout the night! Kiret Singh and one of his band members were exceptional!
Upon arrival, we’ve got a cup of popcorn with a twist! This wasn’t any ordinary popcorn you can get from the cinemas. It was aromatic, salty, light and flavorful.
It was indeed a snack to give a good kick start before the party starts.
I’m pumped by the ambiance and what’s on the menu. Especially their cocktails! Can’t wait to go on a trip to India from what they’ll be serving us!
Rasam is usually served as a soup I’ve never actually thought of it as a drink at all.
It was like having a Bloody Mary to be honest.
You get that nice tang from the rasam and sweetness from the salt on the rim. The aftertaste lingers for a bit then you could slowly feel your tummy warming up.
Don’t sip it, bottoms up!
It may tastes a little odd at first because of the spices used in this cocktail but you’ll start to enjoy it after a few more sips of it.
There’s this really familiar taste like what’s often used to marinade meat when visiting an Indian restaurant where because the 3 main ingredients used were chaat masala, cumin powder and black pepper.
Probably explains why it tastes like chicken!😜
I took this as my 2nd shot. Oops!
It was really refreshing I really enjoyed this one and you get that lovely turmeric flavor and light heat from the cayenne pepper.
Shoutout to the mixologist who played with spices and alcohol fantastically!
Did you know turmeric is packed with hundreds of health benefits from brain boosting to fighting diabetes and cancer?
This has to be one of my favorite drinks of the night!
Whatever ingredients that’s been used in this cocktail are literally my favorite thing.
It wasn’t too sweet, you get that nice hints of basil leaves in it and its really refreshing I could imagine myself having this under the sun at Baga Beach in Goa!
Antioxidant with some booze? I’ll have another two please!
Edamame tossed in roasted garlic and nigella seeds were definitely something different you would get from any Japanese restaurants.
Most of the time you’d have edamame sprinkled with salt on it and only taste the sweetness from the beans but for some reason you could taste a little bit of the garlic and nigella seeds in these beans!
It was so addicting I had to holla the service staffs for more.
The fritters were really crispy outside and deliciously light inside paired with some coconut chutney dip. Its something vegetarians would really enjoy having them as snacks. As for the Goan Quesadillas, they were lip smacking. The spiced chicken, caramelized onions and melted cheese with some of their homemade Goan paste were just loss for words.
If you thought the cocktails and snacks served that night were terrific, wait till you see what’s serving on the buffet table!
Ha! That’s not all of it, there were also service staffs carrying trays of delectable food around the room while we relish our meal!
My favorite dishes oc the night were Palak Paneer, Goan Beef Cutlet, Paneer Pizza and Tandoori Chicken Chop. The Palak Paneer tasted absolutely wonderful I’d have it with naan but that night we were given some of the most fluffy mantaos to immerse in. Goan Beef Cutlet was beautifully deep fried till light and crispy, Paneer Pizza was amazing it couldn’t even last a minute long on the buffet table and the Tandoori Chicken Chop was spectacular as it was still moist, juicy and divine.
Nikki Law, the creator of the cocktails we’ve been having throughout the night then briefed us on what were the ingredients used in the cocktails. I really love how they were garnished and glassware they’re using especially the hammered copper martini glass!
We ended the night with good music and tipsy dancing which was truly an unforgettable Goan feast! Thank you Goa by Hubba for having us.

There is a new destination for seafood lovers in Pavilion KL serving contemporary, crave variety, healthy options and fresh taste sensations! A menu that also celebrates seafood inspired by their travels in the region.
Upon stepping into the restaurant, be astound as you’re welcomed by their fresh seafood display cases!
Before that can we take a moment to admire this beautiful ceramic shoal fish chandelier?
There’s not even a light stench of seafood in here! The King Crab caught my attention I had to grab a photo with it.
Service crew were really attentive and friendly! As for the food, it was all arrived in a timely manner we didn’t even had a short break for the next course! Can’t stop, won’t stop.😜
Tip: If you’re ever ordering both soups, go for the Wild Mushroom Crema then proceed to the Lobster Bisque as it has more intense flavors which may overpower the other soup causing it to taste rather bland.👍
Dining here is like playing a game. Every dish you order, it gets you guessing what is the element and that distinctive flavor that’s hard to explain. As what David has mentioned before our meal bagan, “What you see is not what youget.” Exciting isn’t it?
Amazing blend of Shiitake, Eryngii, Button & Oyster mushrooms drizzled with pesto oil then garnished with crispy Enoki mushroom serving crusty sliced Rosemary baguette on the side. Beautiful earthy flavors with rich and velvety textures.
Drizzled with basil pesto oil then garnished with lobster tail and ebiko, this soup was deeply rich in flavors which was out-of-this-world delicious and satisfying! There’s no reason to dislike this soup at all.
I’m obsessed with the crispy fried apples! Everything on this dish works so well together. The apples and mushrooms were light and crispy, greens were fresh and the dressings did not overpower at all. It was really refreshing and something extraordinary.
I know what you’re thinking, at first glance it may not seems to be a wow-factor but don’t be fooled by the look of it because what matters are the flavors. What you see is not what you get remember? You would be flabbergasted by the heat of the bird eye’s chili showing no sign in the salad.
Moving on to light bites, we’ve got squids imported from Korea flash-fried with ginger and dried chilies over seasoned onion rings plus crispy basil leaves served with warm salsa sauce. I’ve got to admit the squids were perfectly tender, springy-but-not-chewy! What’s missing is a bottle of beer.😀
This has to one of my favorite dishes.💖 it’s cheesy, creamy with that lovely hints of garlic and there’s also delicious chunks of fish, squids and lobsters in it. There’s just something about this dish that’s so comforting and hearty. Other than that, this would actually make an amazing canape!
Tender black mussels poached to perfection in a clear spicy lemongrass broth giving a nice heat to it. Mussels were still spectacular regardless and sliced Parmesan baguettes were toothsome I could just have it without the broth.
As we proceed to the mains, we’ll be trying out their Classic Grilled Catch Of The Day wherewe’ll have to pick our choice of fish fillet served with beautifully grilled prawns, light and fluffy fragrant salsa rice, sauteed zucchini and cherry tomatoes and choice of sauce, Mustard Dill or Ginger Soya.
Grilled to perfection, the fillet may be naturally tougher than other fillets but it’s pretty flavorful and I would’ve paired this with Ginger Soya instead to intensify its flavors while the Mustard Dill would’ve paired better with a more delicate fish fillet.
One of the most flavorful and moist salmon fillet I’ve ever had in awhile. The fat on the salmon renders gradually and gives the fish a luscious, silky, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Mustard Dill was paired better with this!
Chicken was boosted with flavors after marinating for 24 hours. Chicken breast was indeed juicy as it was carefully pan-seared then popped into the oven for a bit causing its moisture to be locked inside. Goes well with both Mustard Dill and Ginger Soya!
Note: Ginger Soya may not be suggested to ones who can’t handle the heat as it leavesa tingling, numbing sensation on your tongue.
Moving on we’ll be having their Crispy Battered Fish & Friends!
There’s something about their batter that makes it super-crispy and remarkably un-greasy at all while the fish and prawns remain juicy and tender. As for the fries, just wow. You need to come over here to give it a try because words can’t describe how good are they! Let’s not forget the tartar sauce with a twist because what’s fish and chips without some tartar sauce.🤤
The next one is going to get messy because you’ll have your bibs on and eat with bare hands.👌❤️
Each pot of their signature Hot & Spicy Lemongrass sauce are served with these amazing fluffy little fried mantous.
Take a bite then dip it into the sauce and watch as it absorbs like a sponge! The texture outside has a nice light crisp while inside its like a cotton.
You could order them as sides that comes with 12 pieces for only RM 11.
An old Southern flavors as told by David as it represents his days when he was still living in the States. Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside with deep corn flavor of these corn dodgers that are also delicious just having it alone. Did you know there’s another name for this which is also known as hush puppies?🤔
Couldn’t get enough of those chips we’ve had from the Fish & Chips. Wouldn’t hurt to have a little more.😅
To end our seafood fiesta with, we had Crunchy Cookie & Berry Parfait.
I love that hot and cold combination on this! The cookie was still warm and gooey inside while the parfait was cold with really nice vanilla flavor that wasn’t too strong and the mixberry compote complements so well with it.
There’s also this hint of floral-like flavor in it that tasted like lychee and a little minty.
It was a really feastful meal we’ve had. Thank you so much Nice Catch for having us here! We really did enjoy every single bit.💗
Here are some of the drinks we’ve had!
Great news for those who miss having their coffee at Espressamente Illy here in Pavilion! Choices of coffee may not be as many but you’d still be able to enjoy the same thing! Especially their freddo.♥

Whenever anyone asks me “Any good sushi place at Bukit Bintang you’d recommend that’s really good yet affordable?” I’d just reply “Ichiban Boshi.” with a huge grin.
After visiting Yokoso Tastefully Japan (if you’ve not read about it click here), me and my homegirl Vanessa went window shopping at Pavilion and after a long walk we were craving for some hot drinks with good food which of course, we had to drop by!
We were craving for more Japanese food after all.
Chawanmushi (RM 4.80)
To begin with, we wanted some hot appetizer. The texture of the egg custard was comforting, silky smooth, really rich in flavors and was also beautifully cooked.
Their chawanmushi was loaded with sliced shitake mushrooms, a chunk of chicken and gingko.
It makes such a lovely starter!
Their service was fantastic and staffs were absolutely hospitable. Your cup of tea will never be left empty! They’d also ensure your overall dining experience was beyond satisfactory.
Next we’ll let the photos do the talking. One thing for sure, all of them were like having a party in your mouth!
Did I had you at sushi yet?
