Ying Jia Restaurant has been one of my family’s favorite dimsum spot since I was still a child till this very day as my grandparents live close by and for its reasonable price. The restaurant wasn’t as packed as years gone by. At one point they struggled to maintain their crowds when they’ve lost their dim sum chef then chefs kept coming and going but recently they’re able to regain and stabilize their crowds.
The service here may be a little slow and there are times they aren’t attentive but what really matters are the food.
Till today I’d still catch myself looking at the deep-fried and baked selections.
Especially egg tarts yum!
We didn’t really felt like eating much but I really want to share with you guys what we enjoy having here. I’ll keep it adding more pictures don’t worry!
My all-time favorite dim sum! It tasted really fresh.
Prawn wasn’t really fresh when I was having it.
Dumpling skin was a little dry but the prawn was good.
This one was mixed with some bits of Chinese sausage.
The sauce wasn’t too salty which complemented the ‘yu mai’ pretty well.
Pretty nice, love the salted egg yolks in it.
Dumpling skin was sadly dry for this one as well.
Other than siu mai, this is my other option to go for. Love the spinach in it!
Pretty ordinary, tasted about the same everywhere else but it’s really fresh and there wasn’t any fishy flavors in it.
Simple cheong fun with smooth and slightly chewy texture.
Batter was deep-fried till super crispy stuffed with minced meat and a little bit of salted egg yolk.
This is actually good! It has really nice ‘wok hei’ to it and absolutely flavorful.
Deep-fried to crispy perfection! Love how its quite filling in there.
Nothing to hype about but it’s not too bad. It’s more on the ‘traditional’ style kind of egg tart without the flaky pastry. Doesn’t matter, it’s childhood flavors to me!
I hope they’d be able to maintain how it is right now so it’ll remain as our family breakfast spot throughout! Other than dimsum, you could also visit their restaurant for dinner which starts at 6 PM onwards.
